Ruby Rose To Star As Batwoman In Arrowverse Crossover & Spin-Off Series

Ruby Rose has been cast as Batwoman! Deadline Hollywood broke the news today that the Australian actress will be bringing Kate Kane to life for the first time in live-action in the Arrowverse crossover as well as the potential spin-off series for Batwoman.

Deadline also brings up that the crossover is not being set up as a backdoor pilot for the spin-off as Kate would be getting her own pilot instead. This was the case for The Flash that almost had a backdoor pilot until The CW changed their minds and moved ahead with granting the fastest man alive a pilot order.

“Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate Kane soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence. But don’t call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope. Based on the characters from DC.”
